Bandai Visual announced on June 2 that a Blu-ray box of Sunrise's sci-fi TV anime series Mugen no Ryvius/Infinite Ryvius is set for a release on October 27, 2017. This is the first time for it to get its Blu-ray release. The DVD box with the newly produced Dolby digital 5.1ch sound in addition to the original one was already released in Japan in October 2006. The 37,800 yen (about 342 US dollars) set will be available exclusively on Bandai Visual Club and Amazon Japan.
Goro Taniguchi (s-CRY-ed, Code Geass)'s TV anime series directorial debut work was aired for 26 episodes in Japan from October 1999 to March 2000. While the all episodes are HD remastered for the Blu-ray box, the sounds are same as the ones in the DVD box. The illustrations for the box and its inner jacket are newly drawn by character designer Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed).
Sunrise's official website for the anime is now accepting online votes from the fans for their favorite episodes.
The three most popular episodes will have newly-recorded audio commentaries by the main voice cast in
the box. Votes will be accepted till June 26.
