"Encouragement of Climb" New OVA to be Released This Fall, TV Anime 3rd Season Set for 2018

The official website for the anime adaptation of Siro's mountaineering-themed manga Yama no Susume/Encouragement of Climb announced today that its new OVA titled "Omoide Present" (Memory Present) will be released in this fall and that the TV anime's third season is set for 2018.

 

The four main voice cast members: Yuka Iguchi (Aoi Yukimura), Kana Asumi (Hinata Kuraue), Yoko Hikasa (Kaede Saito), and Yui Ogura (Kokona Aoba) are all confirmed to return. The news was also revealed in the fan meeting event held at Hanno Civic Hall in Saitama Prefecture today on June 3. 

 

The new OVA "Yama no Susume: Omoide Present" focusing on a story about a keepsake for both Aoi and Hinata will also get its theatrical screenings in six Aeon Cinema theaters in Japan (two in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Aichi, Osaka) from October 28. The price for the advance ticket is 1,300 yen.

 

And as reported, Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture, well known as the main location of the manga and

anime story, offered seven original items inspired by the series in the gift list to the "hometown tax"

donors. Thanks to great responses from the fans, the city has decided to add a new collection of the

Encouragement of Climb items. Details of the second gift collection will be revealed soon.

The 13-episode TV anime first season was aired as a five-minute series from January to March 2013,

then the 24-episode second season followed as a 15-minute series from July to December 2014. The

episodes have been available on Crunchyroll.
