Anime Expo to Host "Tokyo Ghoul" Live-Action Film World Premiere

It was revealed at the "kick-off" event for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Sui Ishida's dark fantasy manga series Tokyo Ghoul held in Tokyo last night that the film's world premiere screening will be held at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 3, one week ahead of its Japanese premiere at the Marunouchi Piccadilly theater in Tokyo on July 10. The European premiere screening is set to be held between the two, July 7 in Berlin, Germany. Also at the event, distributor Shochiku confirmed that the film is scheduled to be released in at least 23 regions/countries in North America, Asia, and Europe.

 

The theme song for the film, "BANKA" is performed by illion, the solo project of RADWIMPS' vocalist/guitarist Youjiro Noda. The soundtrack music is composed by Don Davis (The Matrix series), and the sounds of Kagune and CCG's weapon Quinque are created by a team in Hollywood including Nicholas Becker (Zero Gravity).
