Netflix's Full "Death Note" Trailer Cackles Away with Willem Dafoe

Earlier this week we got a tiny peek at the Netflix Death Note movie's version of the apple-loving Shinigami, Ryuk. A full trailer is here to show off around two minutes of footage, and Willem Dafoe's cackling portrayal of Green Goblin Ryuk may just steal the show. Check out the preview below for a good idea of what to expect when the Adam Wingard-directed adaptation hits Netflix.

How good this ends up being will ultimately come down to how they portray Light, so it should at the very least be interesting to see how it turns out when it debuts this August. Here's the video's description:

Intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook, a young man begins killing those he deems unworthy of life. Based on the famous Japanese manga. Death Note streams on Netflix August 25.
