Students Establish a Pecking Order in "Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e"

High school hijinks are about to kick off in Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e ("Welcome to the Classroom Where Supreme Merit Rules"), a TV anime based on a popular series of light novels written by Shougo Kinagusa, illustrated by Tomose Shunsaku, and published by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint.

The cast and staff have not yet been announced for the Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e TV anime, although a key visual (above) and an official website and Twitter feed (@youkosozitsu) have been published.

The story of Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e takes place at the prestigious Kodo Ikusei Senior High School, a private school that boasts a nearly 100% acceptance rate for students who graduate to universities as well as tuition rates of 100,000 yen per month. After flubbing his entrance exams, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji ends up ranked in Class D, where he learns the hard way that the school is set up as a brutal meritocracy in which only the most successful students are treated well.

Youkoso Zitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e will begin broadcasting in Japan in July of 2017.
