"Kingdom Hearts 3" and the "Final Fantasy VII" Remake Could Still Be Three Years Off

If you're still waiting for more Kingdom Hearts and a return to Final Fantasy VII, your wait isn't pointless... but it could be a bit long.

 

 

During a financial briefing, Square Enix President and CEO Yosuke Matsuda showed a slide of planned releases for the rest of 2017 and for 2018 "and beyond." The latter half showed both the Final Fantasy VII remake and Kingdom Hearts 3, though exactly how far beyond 2018 Q3 they'll come out is still up in the air.

 

 

Of the list, Matsuda said, "We plan to launch each of these upcoming titles in the next three years or so." If nothing else, it looks as though we'll be hearing something about both titles before the end of 2020.

 

Final Fantasy VII Remake is to be a multi-part release. Voice acting is apparently done for at least the first episode, and Square Enix has been attempting to speed up production, hiring on more staff to make the new release a priority.
