"Gintama" Live-Action Web Drama will be Streamed One Day after The Film Release

NTT DoCoMo's online video streaming service dTV announced today that it will start offering a three-episode live-action web drama based on Hideaki Sorachi's action comedy manga Gintama on July 15, one day after the theatrical release of the feature film also based on it in Japan. The three episodes will be posted simultaneously.

The film's director Yuichi Fukuda helms the web darma as director/writer, and all main cast of the film, including Shun Oguri as Gintoki Sakata, are confirmed to join. While its title is not revealed yet, the web drama will adapt one of the most popular serious "tear-jerking" stories in the manga featuring the members of Shinsengumi, such as Isao Kondo (Kankuro Nakamura), Toushiro Hijikata (Yuya Yagira), and Sougo Okita (Ryo Yoshizawa).
