Osaka Prefectural Police arrested 31-year-old Japanese comedian Galigali Galixon (Yoshimoto Creative Agency) for drunken driving on the street of Osaka-city on May 12, then it was later confirmed that he was cast as one of the characters in the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Hideaki Sorachi's action comedy manga Gintama. His character in the film has not been revealed yet.
According to the police, he was sleeping in a car with flat tires parked on the street. The police arrived by a call from a passenger around 7:00 am on the day. They found him sleeping on the reclined driving seat with the engine on. After detecting alcohol content exceeding the reference value from his breath, the police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of liquor. He was released from the police on the following day, but is expected to be prosecuted and punished with a fine.
While no statements have been released from the official website or Twitter, the film is believed to be
released on July 14 as originally planned, according to Nikkan Sports, because he is not a main cast
member and there is no time left to reshoot his scenes in the film.
