Shinnosuke Tachibana Joins the Cast of "Love and Lies" TV Anime

A new cast member, the OP / ED theme song performers, and the Japanese broadcast schedule have been announced for Love and Lies (known in Japan as Koi to Uso), an upcoming TV anime based on the speculative fiction / romance manga by Musawo about a world where the Japanese government attempts to combat the country's declining birthrate by assignment young people marriage partners when they turn 16 years old.

Shinnosuke Tachibana will play Yūsuke Nisaka, the best friend of the main character, Yukari Nejima. In Love and Lies, Yūsuke learns of the forbidden love triangle that forms between Yukari, Misaki, and Lilina, but Yūsuke motivations are shrouded in mystery.

Additionally, the opening theme for Love and Lies, entitled "Kanashī Ureshī" ("Sad and Happy"), will be performed by Frederic. The ending theme, entitled "Can't you say", will be performed by Roys.

The original Love and Lies manga is published by Kodansha and serialized on DeNA's Manga Box app, which describes the story of Love and Lies as follows:

Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden. In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don't have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the country will find a compatible partner to make them happy. Yukari Nejima is fifteen years old. He lives in a small corner of the country, and just can't seem to get ahead in life. Both academically and athletically he's below average. But in within him, he hides a heart burning with passion! In this world in which love is forbidden, what will happen to him when he falls in love?

The Love and Lies TV anime is directed by Seiki Takuno and features animation by Liden Films. Love and Lies will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:
