The opening theme performers and the Japanese broadcast schedule have been revealed for Shoukoku no Altair, an upcoming TV anime based on the historical fantasy manga by Kotono Katō about a young pasha trying to protect his nation from invasion by a ruthless foreign empire.
The opening theme, entitled "Rasen no Yume" ("Spiral Dream"), will be performed by visual kei rock band SID.
The Japanese broadcast schedule for Shoukoku no Altair has also been announced. The series will be joining the "Anime-ism" programming block on MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System) and other stations according to the following schedule:
- MBS: every Friday during the 26:25 time slot beginning on July 07, 2017.
- TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System): every Friday during the 26:25 time slot beginning on July 07, 2017.
- BS-TBS: every Saturday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on July 08, 2017.
(Please note that some Japanese broadcast schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so the 26:25 time slot on Friday is actually at 2:25 AM JST on Saturday morning.)
The Shouko no Altair TV anime is directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi and features animation by MAPPA. The original Shoukoku no Altair manga is serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shōnen Sirius manga magazine, and an English language version is also published by Kodansha under the title Altair: A Record of Battles. Kodansha describes the story as follows:
"For generations the Turkiye Devleti and the Balt-Rhein Empire have stood in stern opposition to each other. Then one night, when an imperial minister is found assassinated, the two nations are plunged into a potentially explosive situation. As the generals of Turkiye's council cry for war, Mahmut comes to discover the devious truth behind the assassination. Thus the young pasha's battle for his country, peace, and trust in his fellow man begins!"
