The latest spot for Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love will get your blood pumping with the show's epic theme, heavy-duty space combat, and what appears to be Santa Claus in a wheelchair getting kidnapped.
What's going on? Presumable all will be revealed this summer, when the second chapter of the film series launches in theaters.
The new 60-second spot also gives fans a first look at the Yamato facing off against the franchise's 21st-century redesign of the Andromeda, a hotly anticipated addition to the new films. The new EDF warship will be showing up both in the film and at this month's Shizuoka Hobby Fair -- though the latter will be a 1/135-scale model.
Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love serves as a sequel to the recent Yamato 2199, and is being released in the form of several films followed by BD release. The second film of 2202 hits Japanese cinemas on June 24.
