Ahead of the new July issue of Manga Time Kirara, there is an update on the anime adaptation of Miyuki Nakayama's Blend S. Now slated for October, Sony/Aniplex's A-1 Pictures will be producing the TV series.
The story of Blend S follows Maika Sakuranomiya, a young lady whose neutral facial expression makes her appear perpetually in a bad mood. This feature makes it difficult for Maika to find a part time job, until one day she lands an interview for a position at a cafe. However, it turns out that the venue is maid-style cafe in which all of the waitresses act out "roles" for the customers, and Maika is assigned the role of "extreme sadist"...
Yen Press has the North American license.
