In time to let players get some action in over the Golden Week holidays, the KanColle browser game launched spring event Sortie! 5th Fleet to the Northeast last week. There's discussion of whether it not it is based on the Battle of Shumshu, the Soviet invasion of Shumshu in the Kuril Islands. And, in fact, there's a new overseas friend from the USSR joining the combining fleet.
