Following last weekend's American opening, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, or Guardians of Galaxy: Remix as it's known locally, opens in Japan on May 12th. Veteran anime voice actor Koichi Yamadera (Cowboy Bebop's Spike, Dragon Ball's Beerus) is back as Star Lord. Frequent yakuza actor Kenichi Endō reprises Groot. Comedian/talent Kôji Katô is still Rocket. And, AKB48 veteran Sayaka Akimoto joins as Mantis. The group then spent hours with make-up artists to perfect cosplay (except Yamadera who jokes about only needing minutes for the side-burns) for a TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills preview screening.
