A new trailer and key visual have been published for "Yakosoku" ("Promise"), the third and final entry in the Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter film series, which will be released in theaters in Japan on July 08, 2017. The films serve as prequels to the 2014 TV anime, YUKI YUNA IS A HERO, a magical girl TV anime with a dark twist.
Set prior to the establishment of the Hero Club, Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter tells the story of the previous group of girls who assumed the role of heroes in order to protect their world from the Vertex. The previous entries in the series, "Tomodachi" ("Friends") and "Tamashii" ("Spirit"), were released in Japanese theaters on March 18, 2017, and April 15, 2017, respectively.
Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter is directed by Seiji Kishi and Daisei Fukuoka and features animation by Studio Gokumi. The films will also be broadcast on Japanese television in a 6 episode anime TV series format beginning in October of 2017, and they will be followed by a 6 episode sequel series, entitled Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Hero Chapter.
