Bushiroad and Nelke Planning Co. Ltd. are joining forces for a new mixed media project that combines TV animation and a live-action musical stage play entitled Shoujo Kageki☆ Review Starlight in which nine young women will compete to become a star.
The story of Shoujo Kageki☆ Review Starlight revolves around 9 students attending a prestigious music academy. One day, each girls receives a mysterious letter inviting them to realize their dreams by becoming a "star" on-stage, resulting in an all out battle royal competition as they try to prove who is the best idol, actress, singer, etc.

A stageplay entitled Shoujo Kageki☆ Review Starlight -The LIVE- is also in development. The play is directed by Akiko Kodama and features a script by Kaori Miura, and it will feature the cast of the anime reprising their roles. Shoujo Kageki☆ Review Starlight -The LIVE- will run for 5 performances from September 22 - 24, 2017, at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo venue in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, Japan. Tickets to the play cost 7000 yen ($62.77 US) including tax.
