On April Fool's Day, plans for an October 2017 anime adaptation of "Japanese kuso manga boy" Bukubu Ookawa's masterpiece Pop Team Epic were revealed. After a quiet month, the hype returned this weekend with a new visual, largely in keeping with the style of 4-panel gag series.

Earlier visual
Initially teased as an adaptation of Hoshiiro Girldrop, Pop Team Epic is described as a "crap anime" that will feature animation by Kamikaze Douga (the opening animations for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) and production by King Records. The tag-line on the key visual above translates to: "You're going to regret this, Takeshobo..."
Character setting artwork has also been released for the heroines of Pop Team Epic, including:
Popuko, a 14 year old girl. She's short.
Pipimi, a 14 year old girl. She's tall.
The original Pop Team Epic web comic by Bkub Okawa has been serialized in Takeshobo's Manga Life Win digital manga publication since 2014. Further details about the Pop Team Epic anime (such as the format) have not been released yet, although an official home page and Twitter feed (@hoshiiro_anime) have been published.
