X Japan Goes Unplugged to Honor Tour Dates

Just within spitting distance of the news that Yoshiki will be hosting a showing of We Are X next month, there's more big news for X fans. Contrary to what was stated before, it seems that their original tour dates in Japan will still be honored -- but the band will be going acoustic in order for their recuperating founder to participate.

Now titled "X JAPAN WORLD TOUR 2017 WE ARE X Acoustic Special Miracle 6 DAYS," the concert will feature Yoshiki at the piano. Doctors have admitted that they aren't sure whether he will ever again be able to drum as he did before, but the band as a whole agreed that they want to continue with the existing dates in the company of their band-mate. Yoshiki has been restricted from any sort of vigorous physical activity for the next six months, but engaging in the concerts as a pianist allows him to still take part.

The announcement was made at a press conference yesterday featuring X members ToshI, Pata, and Heath. Yoshiki also phoned in from California, where he is recuperating. During the phone call he said, "I want to move forward. I'd love to be given a chance to do the shows."

"WE ARE X Acoustic Special Miracle 6 DAYS" will take place July 11 and 12 at Osaka-jo Hall, and July 14-17 at Yokohama Arena. The premium dinner show "EVENING WITH YOSHIKI 2017 IN NAGOYA & OSAKA & TOKYO JAPAN" will also take place as planned.
