Office Workers Blast-Off To Flavor-Space in "Saboriman Kantarou"

Talk about a sugar rush! New cast members and an exciting new key visual have been published for Saboriman Kantarou, a live-action TV drama based on the gourmet / office comedy manga written by Tensei Hagiwara and illustrated by Inoue ABD about a handsome office worker who routinely skips work in secret in order to snack on sweets.

The new cast members include:

Ren Ishikawa as Kanako Dobashi, a mysterious woman who works alongside Kantarou in the sales division of Kitchō Publishing.

And Sarutoki Minagawa as Toru Miyake, the combative manager of the sales division of Kitchō Publishing.

The original Saboriman Ametani Kantarou manga is serialized in Kodansha's Morning seinen manga magazine. The story follows a successful young executive who works at a publishing company and who harbors a secret: Kantarou has an overwhelming taste for sugary sweets, and he's constantly innovating new ways to ditch out and indulge this vice. "Saboriman" is a pun combining "salaryman" with "saboru", which means to skip out on your obligations or to sabotage them with slowness.

The Saboriman Kantarou TV drama stars kabuki actor Matsuya Onoe as Kantarou Ametani and features direction by Kentarô Moriya, Yusuke Ishida, and Natsuki Takashima. The series will broadcast on TV Tokyo every Thursday at 1:00 AM JST beginning on July 13, 2017, and on BS Japan every Tuesday at 11:00PM JST beginning on July 18, 2017. Saboriman Kantarou will also be streamed on Netflix Japan beginning on January 07, 2017.
