Ever dreamed of becoming a real mangaka? The opportunity is open to you thanks to the second annual MAGIC International Manga Contest -- and the creator of Bleach could help make your dreams come true.
Tite Kubo will be on the panel joining the contest's five finalists. Joining him will be the chief editor of Shonen Jump and the executive in charge of Shonen Jump+. Each finalist will be called upon to defend their entry in front of the panel. But in exchange for the stress could be a big deal: the winner will have their work published on Shonen Jump+. In addition they will have the opportunity to spend a month in Japan, during which time they will meet once again with Tite Kubo, as well as a Shueisha publisher, and potentially extend their manga contract for a year.
Applicants wanting a chance at the prize will need to ready a stand-alone manga (31-45 pages) to be submitted for judging by October 15 (you must be registered by October 1). The five finalists will stand before the jury at MAGIC, the Monaco Anime Gaming International Conference, on February 24.
