Level-5 Acquires Keiji Inafune's Comcept, Opens New Company Website

Earlier this week, the latest issue of Famitsu magazine reported on Level-5 acquiring fellow game company Comcept, which was initially founded by former Capcom producer Keiji Inafune. The result is a new company, appropriately known as Level-5 Comcept, and the official website is now open.

Leading the charge at Level-5 Comcept are CEO Akihiro Hino—also president and CEO of Level-5 itself—and CCO Keiji Inafune. There are currently about 15 staff members working at the subsidiary, most of which were already at Comcept, and their base of operations is located in Osaka.

Level-5 Comcept's first game as a new company will be Dragons & Colonies, an iOS and Android game that focuses on developing Halocolonies and engaging in player-versus-player battles. It's currently planned for a 2018 launch in Japan.
