Early this month, National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Associations appointed Yui Yumakawa, the 11-year-old protagonist of the ongoing idol-themed TV anime series Idol Time PriPara, as its new "Rice Support Ambassador," because she loves eating rice and always carries around a rice cooker.
The news was announced at the International Tokyo Toy Show on June 2, and she performed the campaign song "No Rice No Life" on the stage with five-member idol group Wa-Suta (The World Standard), who sang the OP theme song for the anime. Video clips of their performance are now available on YouTube.
