Good news for otaku looking to buy merchandise straight from Japan: Animate, Japan's largest retailer of anime & manga goods, has opened an online store aimed at the global market entitled Animate International.
The website offers products such as Blurays, DVDs, music & audio drama CDs, character goods, and books. "Animate limited edition" releases and releases including "Animate exclusive bonus" content are also featured, and as their name implies, these releases are only available through Animate.
An official Animate International Facebook page has also been published. Founded in 1983 and based in Ikebukuro, the Animate retail chain has more than 121 stores as of January 2016, including locations in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.
