"Hana ni Shimu" and More Take Home the Gold at the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize Awards

The winners have been announced for the 21st Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize awards, an industry award that is sponsored by the Asahi Shimbun and that is named in honor of one of manga's most prolific and influential creators. The winners include:

 

 

Grand Prize: Hana ni Shimu, by Fusako Kuramochi.

 

 

Creative Award: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, by Haruko Kumota.

 

 

Short story Award: Yomawari Neko, by Kaoru Fukaya.

 

 

Special Award: Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo, by Osamu Akimoto.

 

The awards for the 21st Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize will be handed out at a special ceremony that will be held at the Hamarikyuasahi Hall venue in Chūō Ward, Tokyo, Japan on May 31, 2017.
