Voice actors Takuma Nagatsuka and Tasuku Hatanaka are lending their talents to Neko to Mata, a laidback and a little bittersweet short form anime about a pair of cat siblings that will be joining Fuji TV's #Hi_Poul variety show on April 20, 2017.
Takuma Nagatsuka plays Neko, a selfish and spoiled little sister cat, while Tasuku Hatanaka plays Mata, her doting older brother. One day, Neko dies in an accident and returns as a yokai. The two cat siblings meet each night under the light of a street lamp to have strange and sometimes melancholy conversations. The title of the series is a pun on "nekomata", a double-tailed cat-creature of Japanese folklore that displays supernatural powers.
Neko to Mata is written by, directed by, and features character designs by Takeshi Onaka. Each episode of Neko to Mata will be approximately 1 minute and 42 seconds in length. The series will air as part of Fuji TV's #Hi_Poul variety show, which runs every Thursday from 25:25 - 26:55 (actuall 1:25 - 2:55 AM on Friday morning) on Fuji TV.
