Overview
There is one game in the top 30 to be in its final week: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy.
Two games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week, and the top 16 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, up from 14 last week. One game added 20,000 or more pre-orders, up from none last week and four added 10,000 or more, up from one last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
Bravely Default: Flying Fairy (3DS) added 15,914 pre-orders for a final total of 166,241. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 175,000 to 250,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.
Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending February 8
Tomb Raider: Definite Edition (PS4) sales are expected to drop to around 15,000 units in its second week on sale. The Xbox One version is expected to drop to around 10,000 units.
Overall hardware and software sales are expected to increase slightly.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
Titanfall (XOne) added 14,849 pre-orders, up from 8,889 last week, for a total of 230,251. The PC version added 2,932 pre-orders, up from 1,669 last week, for a total of 63,195. The Xbox 360 version added 2,290 pre-orders, up from 1,418 last week, for a total of 55,889. The game is siz weeks away from launch in the USA, March 11, 2014.
inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4) added 9,083 pre-orders, up from 6,435 last week, for a total of 196,484. The game is seven weeks away from launch in the USA, March 21, 2014.
Notable mentions: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) added 16,328 pre-orders for a total of 190,932. Dark Souls II (PS3) added 7,659 pre-orders for a total of 153,117. The Elder Scrolls Online (PC) added 28,881 pre-orders for a total of 115,903.
Requests: Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (XOne) added 3,054 pre-orders for a total of 33,085. Dangan-Ronpa (PSV) added 2,941 pre-orders for a total of 21,109. Toukiden: The Age of Demons (PSV) added 3,876 pre-orders for a total of 15,307.
