Japanese film director Katsuyuki Motohiro, who is best known for his mega-hit TV/film drama series Odoru Daisousasen/Bayside Shakedown starring Yuji Oda, announced a new short film project called "Ghost in the Shell ARISE: border:less project" at Sanuki Film Festival 2014 on February 22. The festival was held in Kagawa Prefecture of the Shikoku island between February 14 and 23, and Motohiro, who was born in Marugame-city in the prefecture in 1965, served as the director of the festival.
Motohiro announced that 5 young film makers selected by him will create short films based on or inspired by the world of the on-going OVA series Ghost in the Shell ARISE. He will join one of the films as the general director. The films will be first screened at Toho Cinemas Nihonbashi in Tokyo on March 28 for one day, and will be also posted in the web later.
The three of the five creators revealed at the festival are:
-Daisuke Yamaoka (born in 1975/his official YouTube channel)
-Junta Yamaguchi (born in 1987/Taxi Driver Gion Taro)
-Yoshikatsu Kimura (born in 1973/KG-Karate Girl)
