It's been well documented that the coastal town of Oarai has welcomed being featured in Girls und Panzer as a bit of an honor and a great opportunity to attract otaku tourists. What's more amazing is the care that the town is evidently taking for the life sized standees of the series' characters, as they've been dressed up for the cold, for holidays and festivals like Setsubun.
