This weekend, Yuri!!! on Ice teamed up with the International Skating Union World Team Trophy in Tokyo for an event where Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva shined with record-breaking wins in the ladies short and long programs, plus a Sailor Moon performance that had the internet talking. This was also the first skating event that YoI character designer and Gainax vet Tadashi Hiramatsu caught since the anime aired, and the impressed artist had a chance to prepare a tribute to that accomplished fan of the show.

日曜日は「ユーリ」放送後ではじめて生でフィギュアスケートを見る機会に恵まれました。テレビで切り取られたのとはやっぱり違う。同じ空間で見ていると表現したい欲求も高まってとても心地よい感動に包まれた。この感覚を形にできたら良いなぁ〜なんて思いましたよ。
