Miyuki Sawashiro Joins "One Piece" Anime Cast

An early look at next week's 21/22 double issue of Shonen Jump reveals further information about the One Piece's anime adaptation of the Whole Cake Island Arc, including that Miyuki Sawashiro  (Fujiko Mine in recent Lupin III, Celty in DRRR!!) voices Charlotte Pudding. Mami Koyama (Arale Norimaki in Dr. Slump, Balalaika in Black Lagoon, Kei In Akira) voices Charlotte "Big Mom" Linlin, at least for an upcoming image song. The character has previously been voiced by Toshiko Fujita.

The upcoming Ace serialized novel was also previewed.

One Piece Magazine will feature the character's backstory, including his departure from Mt. Colubo, formation of the Spade Pirates, and early meeting with Jinbe, leading to his time as a Whitebeard Pirates commander. Rumor/suggestion is that it is written by Ryohgo Narita (Durarara!!, Baccano).

And, the issue looked back at the history of the leads' popularity rankings and the series' past characters in anticipation of a 2017, 20th anniversary poll.
