Bandai Namco's New Game is "Code Vein" from the "God Eater" Team

Last week Bandai Namco teased a new project with an animated video and the "Prepare to Dine" tagline. The game has since been revealed as Code Vein, a new third-person action-RPG from the God Eater team, including producer Keita Iizuka, director Hiroshi Yoshimura, and project lead Yusuke Tomizawa.

In Code Vein, players take on the role of a Revenant, fighters who can enhance their abilities by draining the blood of their enemies with devices known as Blood Veils. These abilities, or "Gifts," can be used to enhance their strength, weaken enemies, and utilize overpowered attacks and new weapon maneuvers.

Here's more on the setting from the official press release:

In the not too distant future, a mysterious disaster has brought collapse to the world, as we know it. Towering skyscrapers, once symbols of prosperity, are now lifeless graves of humanity’s past pierced by the Thorns of Judgment. At the center of the destruction lies a hidden society of Revenants called Vein. This final stronghold is where the remaining few fight to survive, blessed with Gifts of power in exchange for their memories and a thirst for blood. Give into the bloodlust fully and risk becoming one of the Lost, fiendish ghouls devoid of any remaining humanity.

Code Vein is coming to home consoles in 2018.
