The newly-launched official YouTube channel of Kibidango Project today posted the first promotional video for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of its digital light novel series Momo Kyun Sword. The video introduces the main voice cast, staff, and the theme song "Momoiro Fantasy" sung by Haruka Chisuga, who is known as the voice/singer for Mina Forte in the PS3 Game Macross 30: The Voice that Connects the Galaxy released in 2013.
The Momo Kyun Sword franchise is loosely based on one of the most famous Japanese folklores, Momotaro (translated as Peach Boy). The original story features a boy who was born from a giant peach and his adventure to fight against a band of oni (demons or devils). But instead, Momo Kyun Sword has a bishoujo protagonist Momoko voiced by Ayana Taketatsu.
It originally started as Nishijin's pachinko machine "CR Momo Kyun Sword" in 2009. Then two digital light
novel adaptations were released in 2012 and 2013. This July TV anime is based on the first season of the
novel series, "Hoshi to Ougon no Tachi" (The Star and the Golden Sword), which tells Momoko's quest with
her three animal friends (dog, monkey, pheasant) to retrieve pieces of the stolen treasure "Michimi no
Momo" scattered all over Japan.
