After a four and half year hiatus, the latest/10th volume of Rei Hiroe's gun action-featured manga Black Lagoon will be finally available in Japan on May 19. The manga started its serialization on the April 2001 issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday Gene-X and the last/9th volume was published in October 2009. With the two TV anime series and one OVA produced by Madhouse, now the total print run of the manga tankobon in Japan has reached 5 million. The 3,000-yen limited edition comes with a reversible poster and 170-page illustration book "Call Mission Rei Hiroe Artworks2."
In commemoration of the long-awaited release, Shooting Bar EA in Kichijoji, Tokyo, will hold a collaboration event with the manga from May 21 to June 16. The bar will provide foods and drinks inspired by the Black Lagoon characters. The customers will also be able to enjoy shooting with the airguns based on the real ones used in the story in the bar's 10m shooting range.
