Sora Amamiya to Lead in the Upcoming "Akame ga KILL!" TV Anime

The official site for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of dark fantasy action manga Akame ga KILL! announced today on April 22 that 20-year-old voice actress Sora Amamiya will play the title character Akame, and also posted a new anime visual featuring the character with her Teigu (main weapon), Murasame. Amamiya passed the 2nd Music Ray'n Super Seiyu Audition in 2011 and started working as a professional voice actress in the following year. She is best known as Shiho Kitazawa in The Idolm@ster series and Kaori Fujimiya in the on-going TV anime One Week Friends.  


 


The Akame ga KILL! manga series is illustrated by Tetsuya Tashiro with a story by Takahiro (Tsuyokiss, Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!). It has been serialized in Square Enix's Monthly GanGan Joker since March 2010 and so far nine tankobon volumes have been published.
