The inFamous: Second Son patch that lets users cap their framerate will be released on April 17, developer Sucker Punch has confirmed.
That’s tomorrow!
The patch will let users disable the HUD and, after completing the game once, set the time of day. The frame rate can also be capped at 30fps, although the developer points out that this is a cap and not a lock–a few frames will still be dropped here and there when the action gets heavy.
A new mode, Photo Mode, will also be included with the patch. This will allow players to pause the action to control the camera, fiddling with pan, tilt, roll, and other options such as field of view and depth of field. These pictures can then be uploaded using the PlayStation 4′s sharing features.
You will, however, have to set these changes each and every time you load the game, as Sucker Punch says they did not want to disturb the game’s save file format.
Other changes include some changes to the game’s text in other languages, a few crash fixes, a notification about whether you’re eligible for the game’s “Unstoppable” Trophy, and the game will now pause if your PS4 controller is disconnected.
A trailer showing off the game’s Photo Mode was also released:
