USA Preorders Chart, 8 February 2014 – Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Overview

There is one game in the top 30 to be in its final week: Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Four games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, up from three last week, and the top 16 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week. One game added 20,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week and three added 10,000 or more, down from four last week.

Games in Final Week Before Launch

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) added 25,826 pre-orders for a grand total of 216,758. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 225,000 to 300,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 1.0 million and 1.3 million units lifetime in the US.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (X360) added 6,507 pre-orders for a final total of 92,102. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 100,000 to 150,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 600,000 and 800,000 units lifetime in the US.

Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending February 15

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy (3DS) sales are expected to drop to around 40,000 units in its second week on sale.

Overall hardware and software sales are expected to remain relatively flat.

Other Hot Games – In Order of Release

Titanfall (XOne) added 14,325 pre-orders, down from 14,849 last week, for a total of 244,576. The PC version added 2,024 pre-orders, down from 2,932 last week, for a total of 65,219. The Xbox 360 version added 3,725 pre-orders, up from 2,290 last week, for a total of 59,614. The game is five weeks away from launch in the USA, March 11, 2014.

inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4) added 7,495 pre-orders, down from 9,083 last week, for a total of 203,979. The game is six weeks away from launch in the USA, March 21, 2014.

Notable mentions: Souls II (PS3) added 8,779 pre-orders for a total of 161,896. Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster (PS3) added 7,093 pre-orders for a total of 159,510. The Elder Scrolls Online (PC) added 16,875 pre-orders for a total of 132,778.

Requests: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4) added 1,480 pre-orders for a total of 15,422. The Xbox One version added 504 pre-orders for a total of 5,293. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (PS3) added 81 pre-orders for a total of 2,640.
