While it's been a while since anime was largely synonymous with giant robots in the west, 2013 was a remarkably strong year mecha in anime and in general, worth remembering for seasons with Gagantia, Valvrave and Majestic Prince, the well received Gundam Build Fighters, a new episode of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, Pacific Rim, even Iron Man 3.
