It was confirmed that Japanese pop duo fripSide will perform the OP Song for the TV anime adaptation of Shiden Kanzaki’s popular light novel series Black Bullet. They announced the news to the fans at the Lisani! LIVE-4 event at Nippon Budokan on January 25. According to the singer Yoshino Nanjo, the song will be “very uplifting.”
The unit was originally formed by producer Sat (Satoshi Yaginuma) and singer nao in 2002 and made their major debut with first single “flower of bravery” from 5pb.Records in June 2008. nao, however, left the unit in March of the following year and Yoshino Nanjo joined as the second singer in August. The first single featuring Nanjo was “only my railgun” from Geneon Universal and the song was used as the first OP song for the 2009 TV anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. The yet untitled OP song for the Black Bullet TV anime will be their eighth single following seventh “eternal reality” released in August 2013.
The TV anime produced by Kinema Citrus (Cøde:Breaker, Yuyushiki) is scheduled to be premiered in
Japan in April 2014.
