Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love will continue to conquer Japanese theaters this year, with information now being released about its second installment. "Chapter of Departure" will premiere this June for a two-week limited theatrical run, and a key visual has been premiered to promote it:
The new art features the modern iteration of the EDF's new warship, Andromeda. Fans of the original show have been eagerly awaiting its return to the franchise, and its presence is being made the most of. Advance ticket sales for the second film will include a preorder bonus of an A4 clear file featuring artwork of the Andromeda.
This year's Shizuoka Hobby Show will also feature the premiere of a 1/135-scale Andromeda model measuring 3 meters in length. The model will be on display May 13 and 14, and a special screening of the first installment will be held at MOVIX Shimizu followed by a meet-and-greet with head of series composition Harutoshi Fukui and director Nobuyoshi Habara.
Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love premieres its second installment on June 24.
