If you thought a World Masterpiece Theater exhibit and an Attack on Titan crossover were enough for Rascal the Raccoon's 40th, think again. The cuddly critter who outsold Mickey Mouse and helped make North American raccoons an invasive species in Japan is now bringing his conquering powers to Tokyo Skytree for a massive anniversary shopping experience.
Starting April 21, the mascot will be appearing on items throughout the shopping center, sponsored by a variety of companies. In addition to the previously teased Attack on Titan goods, Rascal will feature on chopsticks, cider bottles, and merchandise tied to 12 different baseball teams... just to name a few. Purchases of 1,500 yen or more will earn you a special shopping bag.
Additionally, dining areas will be offering Rascal-themed food, sch as crepes, cakes, and parfaits.
Everything kicks off on April 21, with visits from Rascal himself on the 22nd and 23rd, and again during Golden Week. The event is expected to run until June 25.
More information is available on the official Rascal the Raccoon website.
