"Mary and The Witch's Flower" 2nd Trailer Brings More Footage in Magical World

Toho Movie's official YouTube channel today posted a 90-second new trailer for ex-Studio Ghibli director Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty, When Marnie Was There)'s new anime feature film Mary to Mahou no Hana/Mary and The Witch's Flower for a July 8 release in Japan. The film is based on British novelist Mary Stewart's children novel in 1971, The Little Broomstick.

The protagonist Mary is voiced by 19-year-old actress Hana Sugizaki who previously played a glasses-wearing

girl named Sayaka in Yonebyashi's 2014 film Marnie. The film's official website also announced more voice cast

members, including 49-year-old ex-Takarazuka actress Yuuki Amami (Granmamare in Ponyo) as Madam Mumblechook

and 31-year-old Hikari Mitsushima (Carina in One Piece Film Gold) as Red Hair Witch. Presumably following the

tradition of Studio Ghibli, full-time anime voice actors/actresses are not cast for the main characters.
