Make 40,000 Yen per Month as a Studio Khara Animator

If you've dreamed of a job in anime, can get yourself to Japan, and can take a few other jobs on the side (or live extremely inexpensively), Studio Khara may be looking for you.

Hideaki Anno's new studio is recruiting an undisclosed number of animators at a monthly wage of 40,000 yen (that's just under $400 for those playing the home game). Employees would have to be able to start by the end of June, and be able to work in Suginami, Tokyo.

Those applying are encouraged to send in any art at all possible, from finished works to sketches, all the way down to daily warm-ups and doodles. There will be a training period, and no previous professional experience is required.

While many fans are interested in the opening, there have been a few comments on the low fee. However, there is also speculation that the sudden, swift recruitment is specifically to fill out the ranks for the final Evangelion movie... so someone interested in a credit might value the position.

The other open spots, in production and 3DCG, pay a tiny bit more: 180,000 yen (about $1,650) per month.

More information is available on the Studio Khara recruiting page.
