With an anime already in the works for July of 2017, a live-action film adaptation has just been announced for Love and Lies (known as Koi to Uso in Japan), which is based on the speculative fiction / romance manga by Musawo that is set in world where the Japanese government selects the spouses for young people when they turn 16 years old.

The Love and Lies live action film is directed by Takeshi Furusawa and stars (from left to right) Takumi Kitamura, Aoi Morikawa, and Kanta Sato. The film will feature an original story with new characters involved in a love triangle. Love and Lies hits Japanese theaters in the Fall season of 2017.

The Love and Lies manga is also being adapted into a TV anime with direction by Seiki Takuno and animation by Liden Films which will begin broadcasting in July of 2017.

The original Love and Lies manga is published by Kodansha and serialized on DeNA's Manga Box app, which describes the story of Love and Lies as follows:

Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden. In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don't have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the country will find a compatible partner to make them happy. Yukari Nejima is fifteen years old. He lives in a small corner of the country, and just can't seem to get ahead in life. Both academically and athletically he's below average. But in within him, he hides a heart burning with passion! In this world in which love is forbidden, what will happen to him when he falls in love?
