The official Japanese website for the Kemono Friends franchise today announced two new projects: a stage play adaptation performed by the anime voice actresses themselves in this June and an all-new smartphone game to be available via Bushimo, Bushiroad's social gaming platform this summer.
The Kemono Friends stage play is written and directed by Hiroki Murakami, the leader of Tokyo-based theater company Sessya Meuniere, and this is his first adaptation work based on Japanese anime/game franchise. It is scheduled to perform at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Club EX (capacity: 365) in Tokyo seven times from June 14 to 18. After accepting pre-orders from April 25 to May 7, general sale of the 6,800 yen ticket will begin on May 20.
The three members of Doubutsu Biscuits and the five of PPP (PePaPu) are confirmed to play their anime characters in the stage play as well. And Okapi, who made a brief appearance in the anime's
second episode, will be portrayed by 20-year-old actress Hotaru Nomoto, best known as Usagi Tsukino/
Sailor Moon in the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Amour Eternal musical last year. Kaban's appearance
is not confirmed for now.

Nexon launched the first smartphone game app based on the Kemono Friends franchise in March 2015,
but it ended its service in December 2016, one month before the TV anime premiere. Despite the huge
success of the TV anime, the company denied the possibility to relaunch the game in February. According
to Bushiroad, their Kemono Friends game is newly developed and is nothing to do with the first one by Nexon.
It will be released as the first installment of their "Project G" this summer.
