The Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Tokyo, Japan is gearing up to celebrate the simple pleasures of cooking and dining with a new art exhibition entitled "Taberu o Kaku" ("Drawing about Eating") that is planned and overseen by Goro Miyazaki. The exhibition debuts on May 27, 2017, and runs until May of 2018.
In addition to featuring behind-the-scenes artwork (such as the original storyboards, backgrounds, and other production materials) that examines the process by which Ghibli's animators create their memorable scenes involving eating and cooking, the exhibition will also include life-size reproductions of the kitchens from Castle in the Sky and My Neighbor Totoro.
Tickets to the Ghibli Museum range in price from 100 yen ($0.90 US) for infants to 1000 yen ($9.01 US) for adults. For more information about the museum, please check out their English-language home page here.
