You might remember that in 2014, plans were announced at Machi✩Asobi, an event held in anime studio ufotable's backyard of Tokushima City, for a new Manabi Straight! manga. The Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! manga, by Ufotable and Tartan Check, ran four volumes in Dengeki Daioh starting in 2005, and a follow-up, Manabi Straight! Sakra from Ufotable and Eshika/Shōgo, arrived in time for the 10th anniversary and ran for two volumes. Now, it's time for the 10th anniversary of the anime, and with Machi✩Asobi coming up at the end of the early May's Golden Week, Manabi Straight! is celebrating with a Super Sonico (who also recently celebrated a 10th anniversary) collaboration.
The series, set in 2035, follows an energetic transfer student whose positive attitude sets her apart from peers discouraged by the lack of children resulting from a reduced birth rate.
Sonico and Manabe Straight's Manami Amamiya are being drawn in ufotable and Nitro+ styles for crossover goods offered at the May 5-7 event.
