Celebrate 35 Years of Music and Space Battles with AbemaTV's "Macross" Celebration

2017 marks 35 years of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross. The series has come a long way from Lynn Minmay to Freyja Wion, and AbemaTV is gearing up to celebrate all of it with a special program airing this May.

Titled Macross GoriGori Oshiechau Kan Ne! Kira~, the special also pulls double duty as a first anniversary event for AbemaTV itself. Hosted by Motohiro Takewaka of the comedy duo "Buffalo Goro," the show will also feature voice actresses Megumi Nakajima (Ranka Lee) and Minori Suzuki (Freyja Wion), as well as Macross mecha designer and visual artist Hidetaka Tenjin.

This special will also serve as the kick-off to a rebroadcast of Macross Frontier in five-episode blocks for five consecutive days, followed by the complete run of Macross Delta. The latter will be shown in two-episode blocks every weekday.

AbemaTV's Macross anniversary special airs May 3 at 7 PM JST.
