It's always good to give blood if you can... but Nakano's Zingaro Space has a little something to sweeten the deal for those who are on the fence about getting a stick.
Mahjong manga Akagi is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with an exhibit at Zingaro Space, and one of those days will feature a "gamified" blood drive. Donors fill out a form choosing who they're donating to: mahjong whiz kid Akagi or his nemesis Washizu, a mafioso notorious for luring people into matches where they put their lives on the line. Only one can survive... and when the blood drive is over, the results will be announced.
Those who donate, regardless of how they vote, will also get a limited-edition Akagi poster and sticker.
The anniversary event as a whole will be taking place from April 27 to May 9, and will feature a display of cover illustrations, as well as limited-edition goods for sale. The blood drive will take place on May 3 from noon to 4:30 PM.
