As reported, 33-year-old anime voice actress Mikako Takahashi, who is known as the voice of Sakuno Ryuzaki in The Prince of Tennis anime series, had made it to the final round of “Otona AKB48 Audition.” After the final selection meet to evaluate dancing and singing skills which was held in Tokyo yesterday on April 12, she tweeted on her official Twitter account that she wasn’t chosen for the limited-time member of the nationally popular idol group AKB48. She says, “The Otona AKB48 Audition ended smoothly!! The result was…, unfortunately I didn’t make it (;_;). But I was able to enjoy it without regret-!! I really appreciate everyone who has supported me! I want to keep living without fearing a challenge and giving up a fun from now on (*^^*).”
The winner will be revealed in a new TV CM for Ezaki Glico’s Papico ice cream on May 14. Some people think it may be ex-Morning Musume member Sayaka Ichii (30-year-old). Since she didn’t say
whether she failed in the final selection meet while others did, and the hair style of the silhouette character
on the project’s official site is very similar to hers. The winner will be featured as a center member of
AKB48 in the CM and will also participate in various idol activities including handshake events, theater
performances, and live concerts.
