Shochiku today posted a 30-second teaser for the upcoming hybrid live-action/anime film Cardfight!! Vanguard: The Movie with a behind-the-scenes video featuring DAIGO and voice actress Suzuko Mimori who star the live-action segment of the film “Mittsu no Game” (The three games). Mimori has voiced one of the heroine characters, Kourin Tatsunagi, in the TV anime series, while playing a teacher character Maria Kagami in the live-action drama.
Takashi Motoki, who directed a live-action TV drama STAND UP! Vanguard based on the franchise also starring DAIGO and Mimori in May 2012, comes back to the director’s chair. The anime segment “Neon Messiah” is directed by Shin Itagaki (BLACK CAT, Devil May Cry). The two-part film is set for a Japanese release on September 13.
